16th October, 2008 - 11:31 am
ESPN - Sources said on Wednesday that Andy Pettitte's agent Randy Hendricks has informed the Yankees that his client intends to pitch in 2009.

A contract for 2009 has not been negotiated between the pitcher and the team, but he has made it clear that he wants to play for the Yankees and the Yankees have made it clear that they want Pettitte.

RealGM Note: Pettitte was ranked 83rd in season FIC in 2008 and 'deserved' a contract of $10 million. He actually made $16 million and therefore had a Reina Value of -38%. Pettitte had a 5.28 ERA in 2008 at Yankee Stadium, which was unusual as his career ERA is 3.70. [READ]
